Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Itaconix, Dr. Yvon Durant developed a commercially viable method to polymerize itaconic acid. He continues to lead product innovation with a focus on creating safer high-performance ingredients that are sustainable and cost-effective.
Through continuous process improvement Dr. Durant has led the evolution and expansion of Itaconix's technology platform into a thriving commercial entity. With Itaconix's technical staff and resources, he has extended his initial work to a suite of patents covering manufacturing processes, material composition and product application. His technical group now includes four PhD Chemists who are supported by a team of lab technicians and formulators.
Beyond Dr. Durant’s critical innovations in the commercial manufacture of polyitaconic acid, he has spearheaded product development, strategic collaboration, and regulatory compliance, resulting in the launch of over a dozen commercial products.
